Suqian Bodhi Temple is a cultural tourism attraction.

Suqian Bodhi Temple ("Bodhi" means enlightenment or wisdom, referring to a sudden awakening, a moment of clarity — attaining a state that transcends the ordinary) is located within Zhangshan Forest Park in the city, covering a total area of 50 acres. Surrounded by lush cypresses and pines, the temple is filled with birdsong and floral scents, nestled against hills and near water, presenting enchanting scenery. It is a picturesque haven for developing tourism and promoting Buddhist culture. The original Bodhi Temple was a private shrine that endured many hardships over the years, fell into disrepair, and was destroyed during the war in the fight against Japanese aggression. The current Bodhi Temple is a restored and rebuilt version, situated to the west of the original site.

The temple complex is planned as a three-courtyard structure. Currently, the first phase, including the main Hall of Great Buddha, the Hall of Heavenly Kings, the Mountain Gate, as well as auxiliary waterways and pathways along both sides of the Crescent Lake, has been completed. The second phase, which includes the Scripture Depository, is under construction. Entering the first courtyard — the Hall of Heavenly Kings, you will see three vermilion-red gates, symbolizing the "Three Gates of Liberation." In front of the hall is a statue of the Maitreya Buddha. The main hall of the second courtyard is the "Hall of Great Buddha." It houses three golden statues of major Buddhas: in the center is Sakyamuni Buddha; on the east side is Bhaisajyaguru (Medicine Buddha) of the Eastern Pure Lapis Lazuli World; and on the west side is Amitabha Buddha of the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. At the back of the hall is a relief sculpture of the "Guanyin on the Sea Island." On either side of the sculpture, to the left is Samantabhadra riding a white elephant, and to the right is Manjushri riding a blue lion. Above the Guanyin statue is a depiction of Sakyamuni sitting with his knees hugged and face weary — representing his appearance after six years of hardship and trials following renunciation. The third courtyard, the Scripture Depository, is currently under intensive construction.

On the first and fifteenth days of the lunar month or during traditional Buddhist festivals, devout followers, lay practitioners, and visitors flock to the temple. Bodhi Temple is enveloped in incense and illuminated by auspicious candles. As a renowned forest temple within an urban landscape, it offers a transcendent and uniquely charming atmosphere. The construction of Bodhi Temple not only enhances the ecological value of Zhangshan Forest Park Scenic Area but also plays a positive role in advancing the development of religious activities and spreading Buddhist culture in Suqian City.
