Heshantang

Heshantang is located 100 meters north of the Dragon King Palace Traveling Palace, a national key cultural relics protection unit in Zaohe Town. It was built in the 20th year of the Guangxu reign during the Qing Dynasty and is a municipal-level cultural relics protection site. The building features a standardized layout with well-preserved structures, consisting of two courtyards front and back, with the main gate facing south. The main hall and east and west wing rooms in the rear courtyard all have flush gable roofs with clean ridges, adorned with kneeling beasts and dragon ornaments. The main hall has a depth of five bays plus a front porch, and is three bays wide, with side chambers on either side. The front courtyard includes a mountain gate and east and west rooms. The entire complex faces south and covers an area of approximately 12 mu. The main hall enshrines Guanyin Bodhisattva, who compassionately saves all beings, while the rear hall is dedicated to Sakyamuni.

Zaohe Town: A town under the jurisdiction of Sucheng County. During the Republican era, it was called Zaohe Town. In 1957, it became Zaohe Township, was reorganized as a commune in 1958, and re-established as a town in 1985. It is located in the northwest of the city, 22 kilometers from the county government and 10 kilometers from National Highway 205. It covers an area of 22 square kilometers and has a population of 26,000. The Su-Huang Highway passes through the town. It administers nine village committees—Jiedong, Jixi, Zhangzhuang, Wangying, Bajing, Qibao, Xiezhuang, Longgang, and Songchang—and one neighborhood committee, Jiebei. The main agricultural and sideline products include wheat, rice, fish, shrimp, lotus roots, and whitebait.
