Zhengdun Site

The Zhengdun Site is a cultural tourism attraction.

The Zhengdun Site is located in Wazhuang Group, Zhengyou Village, Xinzhuang Town, Suyu District, approximately 2,000 meters north of the Xinzhuang Town government. The site sits on a convex-shaped mound, with a diameter of about 130 meters, and its top is about 1.5 meters higher than the surrounding terrain. It is referred to as "Zhengdun" by local villagers. The site is divided into a plow layer, a Han Dynasty cultural layer, and a Neolithic cultural layer, among others. Discoveries include Han Dynasty ancient tombs and late Neolithic ash pits, along with unearthed artifacts and specimens such as pottery jars, bronze mirrors, iron halberds, coins, li tripod feet, ding tripod feet, and pottery dou vessels. It holds significant value for studying the early history and funeral customs of our city.

Xinzhuang Town: A township under the jurisdiction of Suyu County. In 1961, it was formed from eight brigades transferred from Caoji Commune and two brigades from Guanmiao Commune, becoming Xinzhuang Commune, which was renamed Xinzhuang Township in 1983. Located in the northeastern part of the city, it is 12 kilometers from the county seat. Covering an area of 53 square kilometers with a population of 19,000, it is directly accessible via the Su-Xin Highway and crossed by the Su-Shu Highway, with the Er’gan Canal running through the township. It administers 15 village committees: Xinzhuang, Chengdun, Laizhuang, Fanan, Yuanzhuang, Zhuwai, Linwei, Qianjin, Shiwa, Zhuwai, Anwei, Zhuowan, Yezhuang, Maozhuang, and Zhenyou.
