Site of the Shunhe Temporary Palace

The Site of the Shunhe Temporary Palace is a cultural heritage protection unit of Suyu District.

The Site of the Shunhe Temporary Palace is located in Shunhe Community, Shunhe Town, Suyu District, bordered by Zhujiang Road to the east, Shunhe Village to the west, Yanshan Road to the south, and the Cigarette Logistics Distribution Center to the north. It lies approximately 500 meters west of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal. Due to construction projects, in September 2014, the Suqian Museum conducted an archaeological survey of the Shunhe Temporary Palace site. This survey employed both general and focused exploration methods, supplemented by trenching, to understand the stratigraphic deposits, define the extent and area of the site, and identify architectural remains such as wall foundations, ash pits, and postholes. A variety of architectural components were also collected, including flat tiles, tubular tiles, tile ends, water spouts, wall bricks, city bricks, and paving bricks. This work will play an important role in protecting the Shunhe Temporary Palace site and enriching the cultural significance of the Grand Canal.
