Jintan Maoshan

Maoshan is a mountain located at the border between Changzhou and Zhenjiang, and at the junction of Jintan City and Jurong County. It is divided into Jurong Maoshan and Jintan Maoshan. Jintan Maoshan is situated in the western part of Changzhou, covering a larger area than the Jurong section, with its main peak, Damao Peak, reaching an elevation of 372.5 meters. The area boasts beautiful natural scenery, and there are also several beautiful reservoirs at the foot of the mountain. Maoshan is renowned for its Taoist culture and is the birthplace of the Shangqing Sect of Taoism. It has been praised as the “Celestial Residence of the Qin and Han Dynasties, and the Prime Minister’s Home of the Liang and Tang Dynasties.” Attractions within the mountain include the Maoshan Taoist Temple, Qianyuan Guan, and Jinniu Cave.

Transportation

1. By bus: Take a direct long-distance bus to Maoshan from Changzhou Bus Station; or take a bus to Jintan North Station, then transfer to a bus to Maoshan from there.

2. By car: Starting from Nanjing, take National Highway 104, passing through Maqun and Tangshan, then continue to Jurong, and follow National Highway Ninghang to Houbai Town. Turn left towards Maoshan, and after reaching the central roundabout in Maoshan Town, drive 2 kilometers to the southern entrance of Maoshan Scenic Area. Starting from Shanghai, take the Shanghai-Nanjing Expressway, exit at Jurong, pass the Wulidun Toll Station, and follow the signs directly to Maoshan Scenic Area.
