Tomb of Shi Yizhi

The Tomb of Shi Yizhi is a cultural relic protection unit of Jiangsu Province.

The Tomb of Shi Yizhi is currently located in Wenjing Garden on the north side of Tengfei Road, Xujiao Natural Village, Xiazhuang Administrative Village, Licheng Town, Liyang City, Changzhou, Jiangsu Province.

Shi Yizhi is documented in Volume 303, Biographies 90 of the Draft History of Qing.

The Tomb of Shi Yizhi is recorded in Volume 4, Geography – Tombs of the Jiāqìng Annals of Liyang County.

According to the Imperially Commissioned Collected Statutes and Precedents of the Great Qing, in the 45th year of the Qianlong reign, during the emperor’s southern tour, approval was granted for 39 sites including shrines and tombs of sages, Confucian scholars, and notable officials — among them was “the tomb of Grand Secretary Shi Yizhi in Liyang County.”

On April 21, 1999, the “Tomb of Shi Yizhi” was designated as a cultural relic protection unit of Liyang City by the Liyang Municipal People’s Government.

On June 5, 2006, the “Tomb of Shi Yizhi” was designated as part of the sixth batch of cultural relic protection units of Jiangsu Province by the Jiangsu Provincial People’s Government.

Licheng Town: Built in 903 AD, Jiangsu Liyang Economic Development Zone (Licheng Town) has a history of over 1,100 years and is one of Jiangsu Province’s hundred famous towns. The district-town is located at the southwestern tip of Jiangsu Province, at the geometric center of the Yangtze River Delta. It borders Yixing City to the east, Nandu Town to the west, Dabu Town to the south, and Zhuke Town and Bieqiao Town to the north.
