The Dacheng Hall of Changzhou Confucius Temple

The Dacheng Hall of Changzhou Confucius Temple is located within the Changzhou Workers' Cultural Palace in the urban area of Changzhou. Originally the Yanghu County School, it was first built in the first year of the Xianchun era of the Song Dynasty (1265) and underwent renovations in subsequent dynasties. The existing Dacheng Hall was rebuilt in the sixth year of the Tongzhi era of the Qing Dynasty (1867). The hall features a single-eave hip-and-gable roof, with a width of five bays (22.8 meters) and a depth of 16 meters, exuding a solemn and classic charm. In front of the hall stands the three-bay Dacheng Gate, a wooden structure with a flush gable roof. Three stone stelae commemorating the reconstruction of the Confucius Temple are embedded in the walls. The remains of the Pan Pond and stone bridge in front of the Dacheng Gate are also well-preserved.

On December 19, 2011, it was designated as part of the seventh batch of Provincial Cultural Relics Protection Units by the People's Government of Jiangsu Province.
