Results of the “Date in Tinian” Contest Announced – Brother Duo Battling Cancer Wins Championship

The Marianas Visitors Authority’s “Date in Tinian” finals were held this afternoon (the 9th) in Taipei. After various rounds of selection, the top three participating teams emerged victorious. They include a wildly popular online seller duo, the super best friends from the “Looking for a Girlfriend” campaign, and the brother duo battling cancer. The Marianas Visitors Authority is presenting a premium travel package worth a total of NT$800,000, which will be managed by the Tinian Dynasty Hotel. The prize includes round-trip flights, presidential suite accommodation, private chartered plane transfers, and professional, attentive butler service.

The Marianas Visitors Authority’s “Date in Tinian” voting campaign saw 21 participating teams. After two months of intense balloting, the final six teams were selected to advance to the finals. Contestants came from all over Taiwan. The “Marianas Visitors Authority: Date in Tinian” finals were decided through a quiz, fun competitions, and talent performances. The first-place winner, with the highest number of online votes, was the brother duo battling cancer from Taichung. The elder brother, Lin Kuanting, 23, returned from studying in Russia especially to compete, determined to win the Tinian travel prize for his brother, Lin Shiyang, 22, who has recovered from cancer. Their brotherly bond is deeply moving.

The second-place winners are Zhao Mingyi and Wang Zhengjie, the super best friends duo from Yingge, New Taipei City, known as the “Looking for a Girlfriend” team. The third-place team is the wildly popular online sellers Mola & Qiangqiang. The lucky winners signed their travel contracts on the spot and were arranged to travel to the resort destination of Tinian for a three-night, four-day stay in a presidential suite, including private charter plane transfers between Saipan and Tinian, a lavish breakfast prepared by a private butler, and experiences of various island activities.
