Wujin Pond

The Wujin Pond Tourist Scenic Area is located in the northern part of Xinghua City and enjoys convenient transportation. It is a wetland ecological reserve that integrates leisure and entertainment, water tourism, agricultural sightseeing, ecological regulation, and cultural tourism. Wujin Pond features a water surface of approximately 3.2 square kilometers and surrounding wetland landscapes, with an enclosed area of about 8.36 square kilometers.

Wujin Pond is a lake situated right next to the north side of Xinghua City. Legend has it that it was named after General Yue Fei shot down the black scarf of the Jin Dynasty general Wushu during his resistance against the Jin invasion. It is said to be the prototype of Liangshan Marsh depicted by Shi Nai’an, the author of "Water Margin." In the late Yuan Dynasty, when Shi Nai’an returned to his hometown and faced the magnificent scenery of Wujin Pond, he composed a poem: “In ancient times, people sought the Peach Blossom Spring; today, we come to the reed marsh. Blue skies and white clouds reflect on the azure waves, amidst green trees lies our homeland.”
