Water Forest Park

Water Forest Park is located 17 kilometers from Xinghua City and features the largest artificial ecological forest in the province — the Lizhong Town Water Forest Park. It’s an ideal getaway for city dwellers to reconnect with nature and enjoy leisure time, serving as a natural oxygen bar. This artificial ecological forest spans 1,500 acres and adopts a three-dimensional model of forest, mound, ditch, and fish. Towering metasequoia and pond cypress trees provide a habitat where birds thrive in the treetops, while fish leap in the ditches, creating a vibrant forest scene. It’s a paradise for wildlife, where owls, wild ducks, egrets, black cuckoos, budgerigars, and mountain magpies nest and thrive. The park is home to over 30,000 birds on average, with numbers peaking at more than 60,000. At dusk, flocks of birds return to their nests, darkening the skies in a spectacular display. Experts from the Provincial Tourism Bureau and professors from Tongji University in Shanghai believe this man-made wetland forest ecosystem, the largest of its kind in the Lixia River region, holds significant potential for tourism development.
