Spain Pavilion at the Shanghai Expo
The Spain Pavilion was one of the largest self-built pavilions at the Shanghai Expo. The structure is a retro yet innovative "woven basket" building, with its exterior decorated in wickerwork supported by a steel frame, creating a flowing, undulating silhouette. Sunlight filters through the gaps in the wicker, casting light inside the pavilion. The pavilion is divided into three main exhibition areas: "Origins," "City," and "Children." Visitors feel as if they are strolling along the streets of a Spanish city, marveling at Spain’s glorious history, the wisdom of its people, and their creativity.
