Former Residence of Chen Yun and Qingpu Revolutionary History Memorial Hall

The Former Residence of Chen Yun and Qingpu Revolutionary History Memorial Hall is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction, a Shanghai municipal cultural relics protection unit, a classic red tourism destination, and a patriotic education base.

Birthplace of Chen Yun --- Liantang Town, Qingpu District, Shanghai. The memorial site borders Shishi River to the north and Xitang Port to the south, covering an area of 52 mu. Its architectural design reflects the characteristics of the Jiangnan region and strives to maintain stylistic consistency and harmony with Chen Yun’s former residence and surrounding traditional buildings.

The main building of the memorial hall is 14 meters high, with three floors (two above ground and one underground), and a construction area of 5,500 square meters. The architectural design embodies the style of traditional Jiangnan residences while also accommodating the large-scale features of a modern memorial facility, presenting a simple yet dignified appearance. The four exhibition halls on the first and second floors display, in roughly chronological order, historical materials such as photographs, documents, and objects that reflect the glorious life of [Chen Yun]. The underground floor showcases the glorious journey of the people of Qingpu in carrying out socialist revolution and construction under the leadership of the Communist Party of China. The exhibition layout makes full use of various display methods to achieve a perfect unity of content and form.

Chen Yun’s Former Residence has also been awarded the titles of “National Patriotic Education Demonstration Base,” “National AAAA-Level Tourist Attraction,” and “National Key Red Tourism Destination.”
