Zhujiadu Wildlife Wetland Park is situated by Dianshan Lake in Shanghai’s Jiangnan water town, covering an area of over 600 acres — including 400 acres of lake and more than 200 acres of land — featuring Ecological Eighteen Islands and a Reed Thousand-Bird Forest. Surrounded by waterways that serve as the park’s natural boundary, it forms a hidden paradise integrating natural scenery, rural charm, ecological environment, and farmhouse life. The park boasts Ecological Eighteen Islands and a Reed Thousand-Bird Forest, houses fireflies long vanished from urban areas, lakes teeming with swans, and an observation park for China’s divine dogs — Tibetan Mastiffs and Snow Mastiffs. A cluster of fairytale-like wooden cabins also dots the lakeside, making it a leisure destination that combines rare animals with rustic appeal.

Zhujiadu Wildlife Wetland Park is lush with shaded greenery, winding corridors and bridges, blooming flowers and fruitful trees, and the sounds of birds and frogs. It serves as a large-scale outdoor leisure and entertainment venue in Shanghai’s suburbs, combining natural scenery, rural charm, ecological environment, and farmhouse life. The expansive Daqian Ecological Manor features a dense network of waterways and broad lake surfaces, home to herds of rare wild birds such as white swans, black swans, wild geese, ruddy shelducks, mallards, and mandarin ducks, all in diverse postures. At the center of the lake lies a nearly 100-acre natural reed marsh, inhabited by hundreds of wild egrets and grey herons. The vast natural lake nurtures millions of pounds of fish species including crucian carp, carp, grass carp, silver carp, and bighead carp, making it one of Shanghai’s largest natural fishing spots in the suburbs. The manor is surrounded by natural waterways connected to the lake inside, which link directly to the Dianshan Lake system, allowing for water level adjustments as needed.

The manor’s farmland is brimming with life. In the lush woods, sika deer, peacocks, golden pheasants, turkeys, and guinea fowl coexist harmoniously; cattle, sheep, horses, donkeys, yaks, and camels stroll leisurely. The estate raises nearly 10,000 American White King Pigeons and features a world-famous dog observation park, which is especially popular with children. The fields grow fresh vegetables and fruits such as cabbage, celery, leafy greens, and potatoes, offering urban children a fascinating glimpse into rural life. In summer, the hundred-meter grape arbor bears abundant fruit, while the hundred-acre lotus pond bursts into vibrant blooms, all of which bring joy and lingering memories to city visitors.

The water quality is excellent, and the vast, meandering waters are rich in wild charm. The water depth along the shore varies greatly. Spacious wooden fishing platforms have been built. The pond bottom is complex, with abundant aquatic plants but little silt. The fish mainly consist of crucian carp, carp, grass carp, and silver carp, with high density, superior quality, and medium size. This place is ideal for fishing enthusiasts who enjoy the thrill of wild angling, though throw-line fishing is restricted.
