National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. was established in July 2011 through a joint venture formed by the China Foreign Trade Centre (Group) (hereinafter referred to as the Foreign Trade Centre Group) and Shanghai East Best & Lansheng International Service Trade (Group) Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as the East Best & Lansheng Group), representing the ministry and municipal governments respectively under the framework agreement on the national convention and exhibition project jointly signed by the Ministry of Commerce and the Shanghai Municipal Government. The company is responsible for the investment, construction, venue operations, and exhibition development of the National Exhibition and Convention Center.

The National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai) is a collaborative project between the Ministry of Commerce of China and the Shanghai Municipal Government. It is invested in and operated by National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., boasting a total floor area of 1.47 million square meters, including 1.27 million square meters above ground. It is currently the world’s largest single-building exhibition and convention complex. With its groundbreaking design, comprehensive service functions, and strategic location in the Yangtze River Delta, the center serves the entire nation and the global community. It aims to promote industrial restructuring in China, facilitate shifts in economic development models, and support the high-quality growth of China’s economy and society.

Located in the western core area of Shanghai’s Hongqiao Business District, the National Exhibition and Convention Center is just 1.5 kilometers away in a straight line from the Hongqiao Transportation Hub. It is closely connected to Hongqiao High-Speed Railway Station and Hongqiao Airport via the metro. The surrounding highway network is highly accessible, allowing travelers to reach major cities within the Yangtze River Delta within two hours, offering excellent transportation convenience.

The National Exhibition and Convention Center consists of four main components: the exhibition halls, supporting commercial center, supporting office buildings, and supporting hotels. These are all interconnected via the Convention Avenue located at the 8-meter elevation level, enabling seamless access for all visitors across exhibition spaces, commercial areas, office buildings, and hotels.
