The Qingpu District Archives serves as a patriotic education base.

Established in November 1958, the Qingpu District Archives is a first-class municipal archives in Shanghai, with a construction area of 4,000 square meters. The archival collections are rich in content and well-structured, including 10 categories of documentary archives, 17 categories of specialized archives, 4 categories of scientific and technological archives, and 3 categories of audiovisual archives, totaling 260,000 volumes.

In 2005, the “Contemporary Celebrities from Qingpu Exhibition Hall” was grandly opened in the archives, with an exhibition area of 100 square meters. Over the course of two years, valuable archival materials and historical documents of 101 notable individuals from Qingpu were collected. These include the representative credentials and conference briefcases of General Chen Weisong from the 14th, 15th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, and the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, the municipal model worker medals and national science and technology award certificates donated by Professor-level Senior Engineer Yu Yunqing, as well as over 200 academic works, creations, photos, and materials from professors, researchers, and chief physicians. The exhibition showcases the remarkable achievements and outstanding contributions of 21 talented individuals from Qingpu, both in China and abroad, through portraits and artifacts. It builds a bridge between these notable figures and their hometown, and also provides vivid educational material for young people to aspire to success from an early age.
