Qingpu Modern Agricultural Park serves as a patriotic education base.

Qingpu Modern Agricultural Park is one of the first four municipal-level agricultural parks initiated in Shanghai. It was first established in Xianghuaqiao Town in March 1999, and was relocated to Liantang Town in October 2002 due to adjustments in the district’s industrial layout. The park covers a total area of 17.07 square kilometers (25,610 mu), with arable land spanning 9.6 square kilometers (14,402 mu). Located within the Huangpu River water source protection zone, the park is equipped with comprehensive supporting service facilities, including public services such as commerce, healthcare, and cultural amenities.

Following the overall strategy of revitalizing the park through science and technology, strengthening it with industry, building it ecologically, and managing it innovatively, the park actively cultivates and expands its distinctive industries. It has initially formed five specialized industry zones: high-quality breeding stock, facility vegetable fields, specialty aquatic products, specialty fruit and forestry crops, and ecological landscaping. These include the development of the Qingpu eco-rice brand, integrated rice-frog farming, exploration of the “tilapia–whiteleg shrimp” farming model, cultivation of high-quality pollution-free vegetables, introduction and breeding of specialty aquatic crops, research and development for improving strawberry quality, introduction and incubation of economic crops such as specialty garden fruit and flowers, development research on the fresh-cut flower industry, and factory-based cultivation of edible fungi.
