The Xujing National Defense Education Base serves as both a patriotic education base and a national defense education base.

The Xujing Town National Defense Education Base was established in October 2004. It is located within the activity center of Panlong Neighborhood Committee on Zhulu Road, covering an area of 238 square meters.

The Xujing Town National Defense Education Base is divided into two main sections: the Graphic & Text Exhibition Hall and the Multi-functional Film & Video Hall. The Graphic & Text Exhibition Hall primarily features educational content on China’s national defense construction across various historical periods and the revolutionary struggle history of the Xujing area. The exhibition hall has collected and displayed a total of 238 precious historical photos, accompanied by over 400,000 words of explanatory text, offering detailed and richly illustrated content. The Multi-functional Film & Video Hall offers over 100 patriotic education films from modern to contemporary times for visitors to watch.

The Xujing Town National Defense Education Base is committed to the principle that “national defense education must start with children and teenagers; with an emphasis on strengthening and improving the ideological and moral development of minors.” It organizes visits and learning activities for eligible youth, active-duty military families, and others at appropriate times, conducting a series of patriotic education programs. The base provides venues for activities such as joining the Young Pioneers and the Communist Youth League, becoming one of the important sites in Qingpu District for reviewing revolutionary history, conducting national defense education, and raising awareness of national defense.
