Caojing Martyrs' Cemetery is a revolutionary tradition education base for teenagers in Jinshan District. Originally known as the Caojing Martyrs' Tomb, it is located in Zhennan Village, Caojing Town, covering an area of 8.3 mu. It consists of a burial area, tombstones, a memorial square, an exhibition hall, and more. The burial area contains the remains of 33 revolutionary martyrs from the 238th Battalion, 80th Regiment of the 27th Army of the People's Liberation Army, who were killed in action on January 23, 1950, during combat training on the Caojing beach when their unit was attacked by Kuomintang aircraft, as well as two martyrs from the 1st Platoon, Company 1, Artillery Battalion 1, Army 31, and one martyr from the 1st Squad, Company 69, Detachment 69, Team 90, Fifth Sub-district of Songhu, along with Wang Boyu, a soldier from the Jinshan contingent of the People’s Liberation Army of Southern Pudong, who died a heroic death during the Liberation War. The cemetery square is square-shaped and can accommodate 500 people for mourning. It includes a two-story building with six rooms for exhibitions, as well as reception and broadcasting rooms. The site displays the main deeds and important relics of the revolutionary martyrs from the region who sacrificed their lives during the Agrarian Revolutionary War, the War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea, and the period of socialist construction, using texts, charts, photos, and physical objects. In February 1950, earthen tombs were built, with small stone tablets erected in front of each grave, engraved with the name, gender, age, place of origin, and military unit of each martyr. In 1972, the Caojing Commune constructed a martyrs’ memorial monument, which is 1 meter wide and 5 meters tall, with the large characters “Long Live the Fallen Martyrs” inscribed on the front. Behind the monument stands a square gravestone inscribed with “Though Fallen, the Revolutionary Martyrs Live On,” erected by the 238th Regiment, 80th Regiment of the 27th Army of the People's Liberation Army. In March 1991, it was renamed Caojing Martyrs' Cemetery and underwent renovation and expansion, with over 210,000 yuan donated by party members and league members across the county contributing to the funding.
