Jinshan is located along the northern coast of New Taipei City, home to Taiwan’s northernmost hot springs and historic sites from the Japanese colonial period. Due to its location in the Tatun Volcanic Mountain Range geothermal zone, Jinshan has high-quality hot springs. Being coastal also gives it four types of springs: ocean sand hot springs, sulfur springs, carbonated springs, and iron springs — the main reasons drawing visitors here. With such a diverse range of spring types, it’s been dubbed the “hot spring department store.”

Situated in Jinshan on the North Coast, Jinshan Equestrian Retreat offers luxurious tepees — including Native American-style and hunting-style tents — all equipped with air conditioning for a comfortable camping experience even in the summer heat. The retreat is also a horse ranch where you can see horses roaming nearby. You can even book horseback riding and riding lessons, adding extra fun to your camping trip.

Located near Shuiwei Fishing Port, the Mysterious Coast not only features stunning and majestic seascapes but also unique marine erosion rock formations — the skillfully crafted rocky outcrops are truly breathtaking. Amidst the vast ocean, you’ll also spot the curious sight of the “Candlestick Islets.” Be advised that visiting during high tide can be dangerous, so it’s recommended to check the tide schedule before going.

There’s a uniquely named specialty café on the North Coast called “Jinshan Tiao Shi No-Name Coffee Shop.” At this café, the owner handles everything from taking orders, cooking, serving, to cashiering. Located right by the sea in Jinshan, you can enjoy coffee and meals while overlooking the ocean. On a nice day, the blue skies, white clouds, and slightly salty cool sea breeze make for an incredibly relaxing experience.
