Harbin Children's Park

Harbin Children's Park is located at No. 295 Gogol Street, Nangang District, Harbin City. It is under the administration of the Gardening Management Office of the Harbin Urban Management Bureau and situated in a bustling commercial center. It is the only specialized park in Harbin dedicated to serving children. The park was built in 1925 and was originally called the Railway Garden. On June 1, 1956, along with the official opening of China’s first children’s railway managed by children themselves and the “Young Pioneers” children’s train, it was officially named Harbin Children's Park. In 1993, it was designated as a Provincial First-Class Park; in 1997, it became a Moral Education Base for Primary and Secondary School Students in Harbin and a Community Education Base in Harbin; and in 2001, it was promoted to a Provincial-Level Civilized Unit.

The world-renowned Children’s Railway encircles the park, spanning a total length of 2 kilometers, with two stations: Harbin Station and Beijing Station. The “Young Pioneers” children’s train is powered by an internal combustion engine, features a vintage-style locomotive, and consists of six soft-seated carriages that can accommodate 192 passengers. Over the 47 years since its inauguration, the Children’s Railway has trained more than 20,000 young employees and has hosted important dignitaries including national leaders such as [name redacted] and Chen Yi, as well as foreign guests like Prince Norodom Sihanouk of the Kingdom of Cambodia and his wife.

The park covers a total area of 17 hectares and currently features 21 amusement facilities, including a children’s train, luxury bumper cars, a space ball, a high-altitude observation wheel, a luxury octopus ride, an ocean ball pool, gasoline go-karts, a play castle, an aerial combat UFO, Happy Forest, a high-platform skateboard, a luxury carousel, a flying dragon coaster, paddle boats, a space walk, a children’s playground, a log flume ride, a spinning coaster, an amphibious assault vehicle, a vertical loop coaster, and an Adventure Palace. The park has a long, narrow layout and is home to the only inland river in Harbin—Majiagou River—which flows gently through the grounds. Gogol Street, located right in front of the park’s main entrance, is a newly renovated Russian-style scenic street filled with rich exotic charm, lined with various European-style buildings. As a result, Harbin Children’s Park, situated in the heart of this vibrant area, has garnered increasing attention from visitors.

In spring, birds sing melodiously; in summer, flowers bloom in riotous colors; in autumn, gentle breezes bring cool relief; and in winter, snow blankets the green pines. Visitors stroll along the serene, winding forest paths, immersing themselves in the joy and comfort brought by nature, savoring the freshness and tranquility of the greenery. It has become the best destination in Harbin for children to travel, relax, and have fun.

Harbin Ice and Snow Festival: December to January of the following year. The annual Harbin Ice and Snow Festival is held from December to January and is China’s first regional festival organized around ice and snow themes. Each year, the Harbin Ice and Snow Festival hosts large-scale winter swimming competitions, which are a spectacular sight to behold.
