Red Flag Community Hanging Gardens of Babylon

The Hanging Gardens of Babylon are located in the central square of the Red Flag Residential Pilot Community, covering an area of 31,000 square meters, and were completed in June 1997. The ancient "Hanging Gardens of Babylon" were built 2,600 years ago by King Nebuchadnezzar II of the Neo-Babylonian Empire to keep his queen in the palace. He summoned the nation’s top artisans to build several cascading earthen terraces adorned with a rich variety of plants and trees. With the sound of flowing springs and hanging waterfalls, the gardens were elegant, magnificent, and spectacular—thus earning their place as one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.

The "Hanging Gardens of Babylon" feature a three-dimensional layout divided into three levels. The first level is a semi-basement, covering an area of 7,000 square meters, which serves as an underground parking lot capable of accommodating over 100 vehicles and has four entrances and exits. The second level is the main part of the Hanging Gardens. The entrance features a colonnaded porch designed in the architectural style of the Grand Waterworks at the Old Summer Palace in Beijing during the Qing Dynasty, with marble archways that exude an Eastern classical charm.
