Ice Story Park

Ice Story Park is located within the cultural park on East Dazhi Street in Nangang District, covering an area of 117,000 square meters. Centered around the cultural park's central square, it features three highlight scenic areas and four story zones. The three highlights include the Xuanqiao Street entrance scenic area, which creates an atmosphere blending ethnic culture with ice and snow through the decoration of the "Wen Yuan" archway; the Silver Sail Gate entrance scenic area, which presents an uplifting image through its design; and the Xuanqiao Street Central Square main scenic area, where small-scale ice sculptures are created to highlight the theme of the stories.

This year, Ice Story Park has newly poured a 10,000-square-meter circular ice rink, offering free skating, sledding, and spinning tops (bingga) activities for up to 1,500 people.

　The four story zones are as follows: the Ice Sculpture Story Zone, divided into three sections — “Regional Legends,” “Ice City Playground,” and “Snowfield Charm.” The main scenic area features three legendary tales: “The Lilac Girl,” “The Snowflake Fairy,” and “The Sun Stone and the Sun Child.” The Ice Activity Story Zone centers around a leisure island with a 10,000-square-meter circular ice rink that accommodates 1,500 people for skating, sledding, and spinning tops, and includes ice and snow sports celebrity story sculptures at its center. The Ice Corridor Story Zone utilizes existing light boxes at the Xuanqiao Street archway to showcase insights about Harbin by over 20 cultural figures such as Zhu Ziqing, Qu Qiubai, and Xiao Hong, presented through a combination of images and text. The Ice Lantern and Snow Fortress Story Zone features a towering snow fortress modeled after the “Shenzhou V” spacecraft and the spectacular “Black Dragon Waterfall” formed by pouring water over a massive rock within the park.
