Harbin Sport University

Harbin Sport University was founded in 1956, originally established as Harbin Sports School. In 1958, it was renamed Harbin Sport University and came under the administration of the provincial education commission.

The university offers programs in ball games, gymnastics, martial arts, track and field, ice hockey, speed skating, figure skating, and more. In 1983, with the approval of the National Education Commission and the State Physical Culture and Sports Commission, the university was granted the authority to confer bachelor’s degrees. In recent years, numerous research achievements in the fields of ice and snow sports, physical education, and social sciences have won awards. In 1990, the university had 321 faculty members, including one professor and 17 associate professors.
