Quanhu Waterfall

Nestled among the undulating Shilong Plateau, a delicate Quanyu Lake Waterfall resembles an exquisitely crafted miniature bonsai—this is the endless jade-like cascade gushing from the Shilong lava. It originates as cold metasilicic mineral water from Erlongyan at the foot of Quanyu Mountain, flows through Quanyu Wetland, gathering countless underground mineral springs along the way to form a lake, which then overflows to create the waterfall. Therefore, it is the world’s only special landscape where a mineral water-fed waterfall exists, and it is also currently the only active waterfall in a frigid high-altitude region that remains misty and thunderous year-round. The annual Lianchi Volcano Ice and Snow Festival also features this site as the “frigid high-altitude waterfall” winter attraction zone.
