Jingyuan Park

Located on Xiliu Road in Ranhu District, this area was originally reed marshes and farmland. With the development of oil exploration and urban construction, it was turned into a park in 1991.

Jingyuan is a comprehensive park consisting of natural landscapes such as green spaces, trees, and water bodies, as well as recreational and sightseeing areas. The park has a green coverage rate of 80.3%, and its meandering water surfaces cover an area of 20,000 square meters; there are six small hills in the park — Wolfsleeping Mountain, Coiling Dragon Mountain, and Scaled Fish Mountain, among others — each standing 12 meters high. Climbing to their summits offers a panoramic view of the entire park.

The park features a recreation area and a sightseeing area: the recreation area consists mainly of a children’s zone and amusement facilities, while the sightseeing area includes a four-season botanical pavilion, a bird house, an aquarium, and a monkey house.

The four-season pavilion houses over 40 types of plants from all seasons, the bird house is home to more than 30 species of birds, and the aquarium features over 30 types of fish. In addition, the park also has a 153-meter-long imitation Great Wall, a uniquely styled Suzhou Street, and a 200-meter-long gallery adorned with vivid paintings.

Best time to visit: Daqing is located in the temperate continental monsoon climate zone of northern China. Influenced by cold air masses from inland Mongolia and warm oceanic monsoons, the general climate features cold, snowy winters and windy springs and autumns, with an average annual temperature of 4.7°C. The best travel seasons are summer and autumn.
