Located in Zhoujiawan Village, Hongshan Town, Suixian County, it consists of five adobe houses. On December 6, 1947, the 12th Column of the Shanxi-Hebei-Henan-Shandong Field Army led by Li Xiannian and the Independent Brigade of the Central Plains Military Region led by Zhang Caiqian joined forces in Huhe, Hong’an, and were ordered to reorganize into the new Jianghan Military Region. The Jianghan Military Region set up its headquarters in Suixian County, overseeing the Headquarters, Political Department, Supply Department, Independent Brigade, Military Sub-district, Second Military Sub-district, Jianghan Public School, and the Jianghan Daily. Over the following year, the Jianghan Military Region successfully accomplished the historical mission of rebuilding and consolidating the Jianghan Base Area, while also pinning down a large number of Kuomintang troops, effectively supporting the victories on the Central Plains battlefield and in the Huaihai Campaign. In May 1949, the Jianghan Military Region, along with parts of the Hubei-Henan and Tongbai Military Regions, formed the Hubei Military District. This historic site witnessed the development and growth of the Jianghan Military Region and holds significant importance for the study of Party and military history.
