Car Wheel Puddle is situated to the north of Xincheng Town in Huachuan County, on the southern bank of the Songhua River. It is 3 kilometers south of the Xincheng Town government seat and 40 kilometers west of Huachuan County. The scenic area spans a total of 1.5 million square meters, featuring a current water surface of 500,000 square meters. It extends 5,500 meters in length, with an average width of about 100 meters and an average depth of approximately 3.5 meters, and enjoys abundant natural water supply. Since the Car Wheel Puddle Resort began operations in 2000, it has received an average of 11,000 visitors per year. Car Wheel Puddle is part of the Songhua River’s distributaries and floodplains. After the construction of the Songhua River embankment, it formed from the old river channel and seepage water. It has abundant water volume, and during high water levels, the downstream section connects to the Songhua River. The scenic area currently includes a 3,000-square-meter guesthouse that can accommodate 120 people for food and lodging, 30 hectares of woodland, a 400-mu fish farm, a 20-kilometer protective slope along the Songhua River embankment, a 30-mu lotus pond, as well as a natural bathing beach. The area boasts a rich variety of aquatic plants, fragrant wild scents, and is frequently visited by wild geese, ducks, pheasants, and mandarin ducks. It is also home to grey cranes and red-crowned cranes that play here. The air is fresh, the scenery is beautiful, and it is a paradise for fishing enthusiasts. It offers tourists a premium travel route that returns to nature and seeks pristine landscapes. It serves as a leisure resort center integrating dining, entertainment, and vacation.
