The Treasure Island Wetland National Nature Reserve is a national-level wetland park.

The Treasure Island Wetland Nature Reserve is situated in the eastern part of Hulin City, Heilongjiang Province, at the southern foot of the Wandashan Mountains. It faces the Russian Federation across the Ussuri River and is a concentrated distribution area of marsh wetlands on the Sanjiang Plain, with a total area of 44,500 hectares. In April 2002, it was approved as a provincial-level nature reserve. In January 2008, it was designated as a national-level nature reserve by the State Council. In October 2011, it was included in the list of internationally important wetlands. The reserve mainly consists of marsh wetlands and island-like forests, featuring large contiguous areas of freshwater wetlands. It preserves one of the most pristine and typical marsh ecosystems at the same latitude and has become a key stopover for migratory waterfowl heading south in northern Asia, as well as a breeding center for water birds in Northeast Asia. The reserve is home to all biological species found in the Sanjiang Plain region, including a significant number of endangered and rare species. It hosts eight Class I nationally protected animals such as the Siberian tiger and brown bear, 21 Class II nationally protected animals, and 130 species of wildlife with important scientific research and economic value. There are 169 species of birds, over 40 types of valuable freshwater fish, and more than 600 species of higher plants, making it a rich gene pool of species resources. It has now been listed as a national key wetland area and is under global care and protection. From the viewing platform, visitors can gaze upon vast stretches of lush grass, winding waterways, verdant trees, and flocks of gulls — a breathtaking wetland landscape that rivals paradise. Its stunning beauty is beyond words, prompting the saying: “No need to taste fish after visiting Hutou, no need to paint after seeing the wetland.”

Transportation: Visitors traveling to Treasure Island can first reach Mudanjiang City. From there, they can take a train or bus to Hulin, a journey of about 8 hours. From Hulin, there are daily buses to Raohe, with stops at Hutou and Treasure Island, taking approximately 2 hours.
