Xiaoxiang Tourist Area

Xiaoxiang is a small village in Pixin Village, located in the southeastern part of Tuqiao Town. It was a model of agricultural progress in Jilin Province during the 1960s and 1970s. "Learn from Dazhai, catch up with Xiaoxiang" became a powerful slogan echoing across Jilin at the time. The village covers an area of 150 hectares, including 100 hectares of mountainous land and five reservoirs. The forests are dense, with a wide variety of tree species, and the landscape is picturesque with verdant mountains and clear waters, offering a pleasant environment and simple, honest local customs. In 2006, the Yushu Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government designated Xiaoxiang as a pilot village for the city’s new rural construction efforts, integrating the red tourism of the Xiaoxiang base with the green tourism of its natural scenic areas. This led to the full launch of the “Xiaoxiang” construction project, breathing new life into the area. In 2007, Xiaoxiang was recognized by the Changchun Tourism Bureau as a “Model Site for Agritainment Tourism.” Tourist attractions include the Xiaoxiang Memorial Hall, the Tomb of Qi Dianyun, a water park, and an ecological park.

Tuqiao Town: A town under the jurisdiction of Yushu City.

Established as Xinli District in 1949, it became Tuqiao Township in 1956, was reorganized as a commune in 1958, reverted to township status in 1983, and was upgraded to a town in 1984. Located in the eastern part of the city, it is 34 kilometers from the municipal government, borders Wuchang County of Heilongjiang Province to the east, and covers an area of 149 square kilometers with a population of 24,000. The town government is stationed in Tuqiao Village. The Yushu (Mountain) to Shanhezhen Highway passes through the area. It administers nine village committees: Tuqiao, Yongsheng, Xinfang, Shanwan, Longhua, Changsheng, Shili, Weiguo, and Baojia, as well as four neighborhood committees: Fanrong, Fuqiang, Zhenxing, and Zhifu.
