Skywalks may not be rare, but the UK is about to unveil the world’s first high-altitude swimming pool, offering an ultra-thrilling experience of “swimming” in the sky.

This world-first high-altitude swimming pool is part of a residential development in the upscale neighborhood of Nine Elms on the south bank of the Thames in London. The developer plans to build a 25-meter-long, 5-meter-wide, and 3-meter-deep fully transparent pool with 8-inch-thick glass between the rooftops of two 10-story residential buildings. It will offer an extraordinary experience of swimming in the air while enjoying panoramic views of the cityscape.

Inspired by aquariums, this aerial pool serves as a transparent sky bridge connecting two towers. With no supporting pillars, it offers unobstructed views. While swimming, you can enjoy breathtaking aerial views of London and even spot landmarks such as the UK Parliament and the London Eye below. Additionally, the pool area will feature amenities including a bar, spa, and greenhouse for a truly luxurious experience.

Unfortunately, this dreamlike pool will only be accessible to residents of the building. Apartments in the complex start from £602,000 each, with move-in expected in 2018. So if you visit the banks of the Thames in the UK in the future, don’t be startled if you look up and see people swimming in the air above you.
