This site is located on the west side of Dundun Village, Xinzhuang Town, 110 meters south of the residential area. There is a trapezoidal cylindrical rammed earth structure forming a large earthen mound, resembling a small hill, rising abruptly from the flat ground. The base diameter of the platform is 41 meters, and its height is 3.6 meters. The top is flat with a diameter of 11 meters. Hence, it is referred to as a mound platform or beacon tower. A long time ago, when villagers dug drainage ditches at the base of the mound, they found a large amount of ash and red broken stones about 40 cm beneath the soil in the trench wall strata. In addition, artifacts collected from the site’s surface indicate that it belongs to the Xituanshan culture type. However, a large number of Liao and Jin Dynasty-era roof tiles with fabric patterns and blue brick fragments can also be seen on the surface of the site.
