The Monument to the Soviet Soldiers is located in the center of People's Square on Stalin Avenue. The square covers an area of 10,000 square meters. On August 8, 1945, the Soviet government declared war on Japan. To commemorate the Soviet soldiers who sacrificed their lives in the war against Japanese fascism, the Soviets built this monument here. The monument features a Soviet-style design, constructed with large and small granite blocks stacked in six layers. It stands 27.5 meters tall, with the base of the square pyramid-shaped body measuring 6 meters on each side at the bottom and 2 meters at the top. The base is circular, covering an area of 314 square meters, and has four levels of steps.
