The Yu Fu West Mountain Ruins are situated on the western hill of Yu Fu Village, Yantongshan Town, about 2.5 kilometers southwest of Yantongshan Town. It is the largest Xituanshan Culture site in the Jilin region. The ruins are widely distributed across the southern slope, southwestern slope, the flat ridge at the mountaintop, and the southeast slope terrace between the northern end of the flat ridge and another hill, covering an area of about 210,000 square meters. Collected pottery includes ding (tripod cauldrons), li (tripod cooking vessels), jars, basins, bowls, cups, and more. Stone tools are abundant, with semi-finished stone artifacts found throughout the site. Specimens include stone knives, stone axes, pounders, stone cores, and scrapers. On a small, slightly lower circular hill at the southernmost part of Yu Fu West Mountain—locally called Paotai Mountain—lies an ancient city dating back to the Liao and Jin periods. Artifacts of the Xituanshan type are scattered across the surface within the city, indicating that the site was in use continuously from the Bronze Age through the Liao and Jin periods.

The Yu Fu Site is an ancient site from the Zhou Dynasty to the Han Dynasty. Covering an area of approximately 210,000 square meters, archaeological excavations have unearthed pottery such as ding, li, jars, basins, bowls, cups, and more. The site also contains numerous stone tools, with semi-finished stone artifacts commonly found. The Yu Fu Site not only exhibits characteristics of the Xituanshan Culture but also features Liao and Jin remains, which is rare in the Jilin region and holds significant value for the study of ancient ethnic groups in Northeast China.

In May 2013, it was designated and announced by the State Council as part of the Seventh Batch of National Key Cultural Relics Protection Units.
