Guoerluosi Museum

The Guoerluosi Museum serves as a base for science education, patriotic education, and national defense education.

The Guoerluosi Museum covers a construction area of 1,480 square meters, including an exhibition space of 1,000 square meters, a cultural relics storage room of 100 square meters, and houses a collection of 6,876 cultural relics, over 400 of which are classified as precious. The museum's displays are divided into three exhibition halls:

History Hall: This hall introduces and displays the history of the autonomous county from the late Paleolithic Age, Neolithic Age, Liao and Jin periods, through the Yuan, Ming, Qing dynasties, the Republic of China, and beyond. It is presented in the form of models, dioramas, sand tables, paintings, sculptures, and physical objects.

Ethnic and Folk Custom Hall: This hall showcases the customs and lifestyles of the Mongolian people, including clothing, food, housing, transportation, production, daily life, religious beliefs, sports, and entertainment. It is displayed through scene reconstructions, physical objects, and paintings.

Natural Resources Hall: This hall presents the abundant natural resources within the autonomous county, including aquatic products, plants, livestock, and wetland birds. It is exhibited using diorama boxes and specimen displays.

Since opening to the public for free in 2009, the Guoerluosi Museum has received over 30,000 visitors annually. In addition to regular opening hours, the museum organizes educational activities on the themes of “Love the Motherland, Love the Hometown” for local government officials and primary and secondary school students each year. It has also hosted numerous special events such as the “Ethnic Unity and Progress – Young Reporters Competition,” the “Guoerluosi in My Heart” patriotic essay contest for primary and secondary school students, and the “I Love My Hometown – Guoerluosi Young Guides’ Speech Competition.” These efforts have made the Guoerluosi Museum a valuable resource and important venue for promoting ethnic unity, mutual progress, and shared prosperity among all ethnic groups.

Since its opening, the Guoerluosi Museum has received care and support from leaders at the national, provincial, and municipal levels. Former Vice Chairperson of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress Buhe and other dignitaries have inspected and guided the museum’s work, further enhancing its collection’s ethnic characteristics and expanding its social functions. Over the years, the museum has been designated as a “National Science Education Base,” “Jilin Province Ethnic Unity and Progress Education Base,” “Jilin Province Patriotic Education Base,” “Jilin Province National Defense Education Base,” and “Qianguo County Party History Education Base,” among others.
