The East, South, and North Pagodas of Shenyang

(1) East Pagoda

Protected area: 30 meters to the south and west of the pagoda base, extending to the west red line of Dongta Street to the east, and within the enclosing wall of Dongta Garden to the north.

Controlled construction zone: A Class I controlled construction zone extends from the protected area’s boundary — 30 meters south to the north red line of Changan Road, and within the riverbank line on the east side of the South Canal to the west.

(2) South Pagoda

Protected area: 30 meters to the east and north of the pagoda base, 15 meters to the south, and within the east red line of the planned road to the west.

Controlled construction zone: A Class I controlled construction zone extends from the protected area’s boundary — 22 meters to the east, 20 meters to the south, within the west red line of the planned road and the west red line of South Pagoda Street, 3 meters outside the pagoda base on the south and north sides, and within the north enclosing wall of Nanpagongyuan Park to the north.

(3) North Pagoda

Protected area: Within the temple grounds and 5 meters outside the outer wall foundation on the east, south, and west sides, 30 meters to the east and south of the pagoda base, and within the south red line of the planned road to the north.

Controlled construction zone: A Class I controlled construction zone extends 30 meters within the protected area’s boundary on the east, south, and west sides.
