In Kaohsiung, there’s a local hidden gem located near the Dadong Arts and Cultural Center at Dadong Wetland Park. After greening and revitalization efforts by the Kaohsiung City Government, it has been transformed into a lush urban oasis. The clustered trees and lake reflect one another, creating a beautiful scene reminiscent of a miniature Forest of Tranquility.

Covering an area of about 9 hectares, Dadong Wetland Park can be reached simply by taking the Kaohsiung MRT Orange Line to Dadong Station. The park features a large pond with small fish swimming freely, surrounded by numerous trees and flowers and plants that change with the seasons, making it a popular spot for leisure and recreation among Kaohsiung residents. It’s also a favorite place for many couples to take wedding photos.

The nearby Dadong Arts and Cultural Center is also one of Kaohsiung’s popular attractions. The special membrane roof above the surrounding plaza space looks like a cluster of hot air balloons, and it displays colorful light effects at night. During holidays, it attracts many locals and tourists to take photos here.
