Paoziyan

　The Paoziyan Scenic Area is located at the border between the northeast of Faku Town and Diaobingshan City, centered around the Paoziyan Reservoir. The scenic area is 7 kilometers from Faku County and 100 kilometers from Shenyang, covering an area of 2,690 hectares. It is divided into three sections: the lake area, Shijing Mountain, and Ladder Mountain, and is a tourist destination that combines leisure, sightseeing, and water recreation.

The Paoziyan Scenic Area not only boasts the beauty of mountains and waters, with picturesque lakes and landscapes, but also holds historical tales such as the military maneuvers of Jin Wushu and Xue Rengui’s eastern expedition, allowing visitors to appreciate the splendor of nature while uncovering countless ancient mysteries. The lake area features clear and pristine waters, with flat and expansive shores, offering service zones for swimming, fishing, dining, and recreational leisure. In the middle of the lake lies Lover’s Island, with golden sands lapping the shore and lush green trees, making it a great spot for couples to fish, relax, have fun, or enjoy a picnic. The Shijing Mountain section is located on the western bank of Paoziyan, north of SheShanGou Village (the hometown of Yang Yuting), where the bare rocks take on a myriad of forms. On the sunny slope of the mountain is a natural stone cave housing seven stone Buddha statues, hence named the Stone Buddha Cave. At the foot of Shijing Mountain lies the tomb of Yang Yuting, a high-ranking general of the Fengtian Clique and an official of the Republic of China. Surrounded by mountains and water with abundant trees and forests, locals regard it as an immensely auspicious and feng shui-rich site. The Ladder Mountain section is situated on the western bank of the lake,

south of SheShanGou Village. During the Tang Dynasty, Xue Rengui fought a fierce battle here with Goguryeo’s Marshal Gaesomun during the eastern campaign, and Yue Lei, the second son of Yue Fei of the Southern Song Dynasty, once stationed troops here during his northern campaign. During the Song Dynasty, Jin’s Marshal Wushu also mobilized troops in this area. This place embodies both the wonder shaped by the heavens and the mystery of historical relics, with the mountain’s fractured terrain—formed by ancient volcanic eruptions—taking on diverse and spectacular forms. Key attractions include the Golden Turtle Delivering a Child, the Dragon Spitting Celestial Nectar, the One-Line Sky, the Squeezing Stone, and the Forest Bathing Area.
