Forty-two professionals from the general aviation industry who are attending the 3rd Shenyang Faku International Flight Convention and the 2014 Shenyang Airshow on the 28th initiated the establishment of the Asia Aerobatic Flight Sports Federation.
According to international aviation organization categories, the only similar body currently in existence globally is the International Aeronautical Sports Federation (FAI), which was founded in 1905. There is no such organization in Asia, nor are there any other countries or regions that meet the conditions to establish one. In order to promote the development of the general aviation industry in Asia, Zhao Wei, aerobatics flight team leader of the Shenyang Tieying Club and the Chinese initiator, established the federation together with advocates and enthusiasts of general aviation flying — especially those involved in aerobatics — across Asia.
The headquarters of the Asia Aerobatic Flight Sports Federation is registered in Faku, Shenyang, China, with its location set at Caihu Airport. Faku has initially built an industrial park with the most comprehensive general aviation chain in China, and its general aviation base is the country’s first pilot flight service station.
Zhao Wei, the newly elected chairman of the Asia Aerobatic Flight Sports Federation, said that the federation will serve as a unifying banner, bringing together aerobatic flight enthusiasts from all over the world. Kamel, a representative of the International Aeronautical Federation, stated that Asia is the most promising aviation market globally, and the establishment of the Asia Aerobatic Flight Sports Federation is a major event in the history of Asia’s aviation development.
