Paoziyan Scenic Area is located at the border of Faku and Tiefa cities, covering an area of 4.5 million square meters. The scenic area is divided into three parts: the lake area, Shijing Mountain, and Lizi Mountain. The lake area spans 3 million square meters, featuring clear and pristine waters with flat and expansive shorelines. Lizi Mountain on the western lakeshore was formed by the fracturing of ancient volcanic activity. Over millennia of natural erosion, it has developed into a landscape of striking and varied forms, including attractions such as “Golden Turtle Presenting a Child,” “Dragon Spitting Celestial Nectar,” “One-Line Sky,” and “Squeezed Rock,” allowing visitors not only to appreciate the majestic beauty of nature but also to glimpse countless ancient mysteries.

The Paoziyan Reservoir Scenic Area boasts spectacular and picturesque natural scenery, surrounded by mountains and graced with extraordinary peaks and beautiful waters, presenting the impression of a grand body of water cradled by a ring of peaks, like a bright moon embraced by stars. The peaks of Changshan and Shijing Mountain rise majestically in layered succession. Shenlong Island is nestled within the vast expanse of blue waters, adorned with evergreen pines and lush shaded trees. The sandy beaches along both the northern and southern shores of the reservoir are soft and fine, with ideal water depths, making it a perfect spot for water activities. On the western shore, ancient Lashan Mountain is home to a memorial tower commemorating the Tiefa Mining Bureau’s production of ten million tons of coal. At the foot of the mountain lies the tomb of Yang Yuting, an official from the Republic of China era.
