The Xiushuihezi Martyrs' Cemetery is a National Key Cultural Relics Protection Unit, a Classic Red Tourism Destination, a Patriotic Education Base, and a National Defense Education Base.

The Xiushuihezi Town Martyrs' Cemetery is situated on the northern hill of Xiushuihezi Village, the site of the important town of Xiushuihezi in northern Liaoning. National Highway 101 runs through the area, 35 kilometers from Faku and 70 kilometers from Shenyang. To the west lies the Huanzidong Wetland Nature Reserve, and to the southwest, only 5 kilometers away, is the Shengji Mountain Liao Tombs Cluster.

To honor the revolutionary martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the glorious Battle of Xiushuihezi, known as the "first spring of the Northeast Liberation War," the central authorities decided in 1968 to design and construct the Xiushuihezi Town Martyrs' Cemetery, which was completed in 1970. It is a National Second-Class Cultural Relics Protection Unit. To protect this historical site, since 2008, 3.8 million yuan in provincial and municipal funds have been allocated for renovation and maintenance. The site includes the Xiushuihezi Battle Martyrs’ Monument, the Xiushuihezi Battle Memorial Hall, a stone carving wall, 84 martyr tombs, perimeter walls, and a main gate. The memorial hall houses photos, images, relics of the martyrs, wartime documents, victory bulletins, and other materials from that era. Over 800 martyrs who died in the Battle of Xiushuihezi are buried in the cemetery. The site has hosted numerous visits by leaders at the central, provincial, municipal, and county levels. On July 19, 2007, the “Tribute to Xiushuihezi” ceremony was grandly held at the Xiushuihezi Battle Memorial Hall. The Faku County Party Committee and County Government invited descendants of generals who had participated in the Xiushuihe Battle, including Mr. and Mrs. Zhou Bingjun, nephew of Premier Zhou Enlai; Mr. and Mrs. Huang Xu, son of General Huang Kecheng; Mr. Peng Longjiang and his grandson Peng Bo, sons of General Peng Mingzhi; Mr. Liang Xiaodong and Mr. Liang Xiaoyuan, sons of Lieutenant General Liang Xingchun; and Mr. and Mrs. Liang Dingding, daughter of Lieutenant General Liang Biye. They toured the martyrs’ cemetery and memorial hall, and took commemorative photos and inscriptions. In 1997, the Xiushuihezi Martyrs' Cemetery was designated as a Shenyang Municipal Patriotic Education Base by the Shenyang Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government. In 2009, it was rated as a Municipal National Defense Education Base by the Shenyang National Defense Education Office.

Xiushuihezi Town: A town under the jurisdiction of Faku County. Established as a township in 1956, reorganized as Xinghuo Commune in 1958, renamed Xiushuihezi Commune in 1961, reinstated as a township in 1984, and upgraded to a town in 1985.
