Jinshahe Square

Jinshahe Square is located at the southeast corner where Xiaodong Street intersects Xingfa Road, at the boundary between the old and new urban areas. It is part of the first phase of the comprehensive management project for the Jinshahe River basin and serves as a scenic node square within the basin.

The square covers a total area of 39,000 square meters, with the lake area spanning 18,700 square meters. It was built in two phases: the first phase covering 25,000 square meters. This section includes 4,300 square meters of paving, mainly using granite, while the landscape platforms and dock areas primarily feature anti-corrosion wood. The green space spans 2,000 square meters, with vegetation including native tree species such as drought willow, Beijing peach, and Chinese scholar tree, as well as shrubs like wintercreeper, red-twig dogwood, and pearl bush. The second phase covers 14,000 square meters. Construction began in August 2011, alongside the first phase of the Jinshahe River basin comprehensive management project. The square is situated on the north bank of the Jinshahe River, adjacent to the lake, offering picturesque scenery.

The square is divided into two main zones: the water-friendly zone, which includes landscape platforms, a scenic dock, and two pavilions, and the fitness and leisure zone, which features a circular plaza and walking paths. The park incorporates over ten types of landscaping plants, creating an urban waterfront space for the people of Faku amidst the concrete jungle. It establishes a slow-traffic system and a fitness/waterfront walking system at the city center, offering residents a green corridor for leisure, exercise, and recreation.

There are four cage football fields on the east side of Jinshahe Square. Construction began in August 2014, and they were officially put into use in October of the same year, with a total investment of 3 million yuan. The site covers a total area of 5,500 square meters, including three five-a-side cage football fields (each measuring 42×24 meters), and one football training field (measuring 30×20 meters). All four fields are equipped with artificial turf and lighting facilities. Their completion fills the gap of missing cage football facilities in the county, providing a platform for local football enthusiasts to showcase and exchange skills, and helping accelerate Faku’s development as a “hometown of football.”
