Northeast Aviation History Memorial Hall

The Northeast Aviation History Memorial Hall is a classic red tourism attraction and a patriotic education base.

The “Northeast Aviation History Memorial Hall” has opened at the Faku Caihu Airport, and it is open to the public free of charge.

The exhibition area spans 1,900 square meters, displaying over a thousand precious historical documents and more than a hundred cultural relics. For the first time, it presents a comprehensive, systematic, and authentic account of the heroic and moving deeds of aviation heroes from the northeast who fought in the War of Resistance. The memorial consists of four exhibition units and one interactive area. The interactive zone primarily uses physical models, multimedia, and flight simulation to engage visitors, enhancing their understanding of aviation history and interest in the aviation industry.

The four exhibition units focus on: first, the “Storm of Resistance,” which showcases the heroic history of 54 martyrs from the northeast—including Gao Zhihang, Li Guidan, Liu Cuigang, and Yan Haiwen—who fought for 14 years during the period of national unity between the Kuomintang and the Communist Party from 1931 to 1945, dedicating their lives to aerial warfare and serving the nation through aviation; second, the “Cradle of Eagles,” which depicts the early days of the People’s Republic, tracing the development of the air force from nothing—establishing aviation squadrons, the old aviation school, training the first batch of pilots, including female pilots, and the pioneering efforts involved; third, the “Lofty Aspirations,” which introduces the moving battle stories of the Chinese People's Volunteer Army during the Korean War; fourth, also titled “Lofty Aspirations,” this unit outlines the development and rapid progress of the republic’s aviation industry as well as the century-long evolution of global aviation.

At the Northeast Aviation Memorial Hall, it is revealed for the first time that during the “September 18th Incident,” Japanese fascists carried out indiscriminate bombings in Jinzhou, making it the first city in the world to be bombed by foreign aircraft; it also uncovers for the first time the journey from the Northeast Old Aviation School to the founding ceremony of the People’s Republic; and it reveals for the first time the establishment of the People’s Air Force and the growth of the volunteer air force during the Korean War...
