Shenyang Expo Garden

Located on the former site of the "Shenyang Botanical Garden," it consists of a 2.46 square kilometer core area and a 5 square kilometer background zone. It is 20 kilometers from the city center. The "2006 International Horticultural Exposition" was held here from May 1 to October 31, 2006.

The Shenyang World Horticultural Exposition set a record with 12.6 million visitors. The landscape gardens and floral displays from various cities and countries also hold great appeal for children. The Expo Garden’s 100 exhibition areas include 53 domestic and 23 international gardens, showcasing representative horticultural achievements from countries across the five continents. In addition, there are 24 specialized gardens that focus on agronomy, rock plants, shade-loving plants, traditional Chinese herbs, trees, and herbs. The pavilions are rich in regional cultural characteristics—for example, the Tibet Pavilion recreates the Potala Palace, allowing children to fully experience the rugged charm of the plateau. The ancient capital Xi’an recreates the grandeur of the ancient Silk Road through flowers, horticulture, and performances, while the Wenzhou Pavilion incorporates the landscapes of Yandang Mountain, Jiangxin Island, and the Ou River, bringing beautiful scenery into a small garden space. The international area features cultural gardens from over 20 countries including Vietnam, the UK, Italy, South Korea, Japan, and the Netherlands, displaying distinctive gardens, architecture, and diverse water feature sculptures from different nations.
