Dongling Guan Di Temple is a cultural tourism attraction.

Shenyang Ertai Zi Guan Di Ancient Temple Huguo Temple (Guan Di Temple) is located in Ertai Zi Village, Qianjin Township, Dongling District, Shenyang City. According to the *Shenyang County Annals*, "the Shenyang North Ertai Zi Guan Di Ancient Temple was built during the Tang Dynasty, eight li from the city," covering an area of 3,318 square meters. The ancient temple is situated on a hillside, featuring uniquely styled temple architecture, shaded by green trees, tranquil and secluded, with a somewhat mysterious aura. The *Shengjing Tongzhi* also refers to it as "the renowned Guan Di Temple at North Ertai Zi, just outside the city."

Since its construction during the Tang Dynasty, the temple has been repaired and expanded by successive dynasties. By the time of the Cultural Revolution, the ancient structure remained largely intact but was eventually demolished during that period.

In order to rediscover this historical and cultural landmark and restore its original appearance for the people of Shenyang, with approval from relevant municipal departments, the project was jointly developed by the People's Government of Qianjin Township, Dongling District, Shenyang; Shenyang Ertai Zi Agricultural, Industrial, and Commercial United Company; and Liaoning Dazong Tourism Development Co., Ltd. Based on restoration, the site was further expanded. It has now become a religious culture-themed tourist scenic area with unique characteristics, influencing the entire Northeast China region and extending its reach to Southeast and East Asia.

Guan Yu (162?–220), of Han ethnicity, was born during the Yanxi era of Emperor Huan of the Eastern Han Dynasty. His courtesy name was Yunchang, originally Changsheng, and he was a native of Xieliang in Hedong (present-day Yuncheng City, Shanxi Province). A renowned general of the Shu Han during the Three Kingdoms period, he held the military rank of General of the Vanguard, was enfeoffed as Marquis of Hanshou Ting, and was a celebrated military strategist. After his death, he was widely venerated by the people, and through successive imperial honors, he came to be worshipped as Guan Sheng Di Jun (Lord Guan the Saint). In Buddhism, he is known as Sangharama Bodhisattva, and respectfully called "Guan Gong." Later rulers revered Guan Yu as the "Martial Saint," placing him alongside Confucius, the "Civil Saint."
