Wulihe Park

Shenyang’s Wulihe Park stretches 4 kilometers from east to west, starting from Changqing Bridge in the east and ending at Hunhe Bridge in the west; it extends 400 meters from north to south, ranging from the Second Ring Road in the north to the banks of the Hunhe River in the south. The first phase of the project commenced construction in April 2001 and was completed in June 2002. The park covers a total area of 126 hectares (including a 12-hectare river island), integrating cultural, leisure, and recreational functions. It is the largest urban riverside park in Shenyang. The park’s design is primarily landscape-oriented, featuring several key zones including the Natural Landscape Area, Cultural & Leisure Area, Entertainment & Service Area, Exotic Bird Ecology Area, Roadside Landscape Area, Wetland Ecology Area, and Main Entrance Area. Landmarks within the park such as the hundred-meter musical fountain, Dragon Stream, artificial beach, Wulihe Wharf Square, and Central Plaza all draw on advanced domestic and international design concepts, ranking among the best in China.

The park’s ceremonial archway consists of ten towering pillars, each encircled by four colored columns. The white steel-striped column capitals, paired with bright gray faux-stone textured bases, add a festive atmosphere to Wulihe Park. At night, the archway becomes even more dazzling under the glow of the lights.
