Shenyang Forest Wild Animal Zoo is the only comprehensive state-owned zoo in Shenyang that exhibits a variety of rare wild animals. Located within the Qipanshan Scenic Area and 17 kilometers from the city center, it is an AAAA-level tourist attraction integrating animal conservation, science education, scientific research, and leisure tourism. It also serves as a youth science education base for Liaoning Province and Shenyang City, as well as an artificial breeding and research base for red-crowned cranes. The zoo is home to representative animals from around the world, such as chimpanzees, white lions, giraffes, leopards, kangaroos, rhinoceroses, sea lions, and seals.

Shenyang Forest Wild Animal Zoo is the only comprehensive state-owned zoo in Shenyang that showcases a variety of rare wild animals. Situated in the Qipanshan Scenic Area and 17 kilometers from the city center, it combines animal protection, science education, scientific research, and tourism leisure in one AAAA-level destination. It is also recognized as a youth science education base for both Liaoning Province and Shenyang City, and a research base for the artificial breeding of red-crowned cranes. The zoo features iconic animals from around the globe, including chimpanzees, white lions, giraffes, leopards, kangaroos, rhinoceroses, sea lions, and seals.

In November 2013, our zoo began a comprehensive renovation of the park, which was completed by April 30, 2014. The renovated zoo adopts a barrier-free visual display model for visitors. Through continuous improvements in park infrastructure and the gradual enrichment of service offerings, the zoo has enhanced its overall quality, visiting environment, animal exhibition standards, and visitor experience, making it an important showcase of Shenyang’s ecological civilization.

Themed exhibition areas such as the Dense Forest Valley, Waterfowl Lake, Primate Hall, and Little Animals Village fully embody the zoo's integration of humanity and nature. The Little Animals Village is especially suitable for children, offering close encounters with animals like rabbits, squirrels, big-eared goats, baby brown bears, and guinea pigs. In the newly built Amphibian and Reptile House, visitors can see over 40 species and nearly 100 individual reptiles and amphibians, including Burmese pythons, Burmese star tortoises, and Komodo dragons. Additionally, families can visit the zoo’s Science Popularization Station to learn about wildlife.

Daily flight demonstrations by red-crowned cranes and demoiselle cranes take place at 11:00 and 14:00. Watch them circle gracefully and powerfully in the blue sky.

There are also sea lion performance shows in the marine animal exhibition area. Interested visitors can head over during the designated times to watch.
