Gaojian Di Mountain City is a National Key Cultural Relics Protection Unit.

Gaojian Di Mountain City was built on the strategically rugged site of Gaojian Di. The city walls were constructed using wedge-shaped processed stone blocks, laid in layers with interlocking joints, resulting in a neat and orderly exterior — a typical feature of Goguryeo mountain fortresses. Gaojian Di Mountain City is the best-preserved Goguryeo-era fortress site in the Huanren area. The city is situated in Gaojian Di Village, Muyuzi Town. It lies 7 km southeast of Muyuzi Town, 2.2 km south of Gaojian Di Village, with the Erdaogou Valley at the western foot of the mountain and continuous mountain ranges to the east. The highway from Benxi to Huanren passes approximately 3.3 km south of the city. There are mainly two routes leading up the mountain into the city, both located at the southern side. The city has an oval layout, wider from east to west and narrower from north to south. The terrain inside the city is higher in the north and lower in the south. Most of the walls follow the mountain ridges, with longer sections of man-made walls and only a few parts utilizing naturally steep cliffs. The total length of the mountain city is 1,466 meters.

In May 2013, it was designated and announced as part of the seventh batch of National Key Cultural Relics Protection Units by the State Council.

Protected Area: Within the city, along the city walls, and within 50 meters outside the outer base of the rock walls.

Construction Control Zone: A secondary construction control zone extending 100 meters beyond the protected area.
