Dashihu (Laobian Gou) Scenic Area

Dashihu Scenic Area is located at the eastern end of the "triangular tourism framework" of Benxi Manchu Autonomous County, covering parts of Xinchengzi Village and Nanyingfang Village in Dongyingfang Township, as well as the state-owned Lanhe Forest Farm. The scenic area borders Huanren and Kuandian to the east, connects to Saima and Fengcheng to the south, links to Tianshifu and Caohezhang to the west, and adjoins Jianchang and Xinbin to the north, with a total area of 49.42 square kilometers.

Based on the regional structure and resource distribution of the scenic area, it is divided into two major zones: the Dashihu Scenic Area and the Laobian Gou Scenic Area.

The Laobian Gou Scenic Area was developed and constructed through the attraction of private capital in 2008. To date, an investment of 50 million yuan has been completed, and it is now open to the public. The Laobian Gou Scenic Area includes two main sightseeing areas: the Giant Rock River area and the Myriad Vistas Valley area.

1. Giant Rock River Sightseeing Area

The Giant Rock River features winding canyons and large rock accumulations, mainly visible along Yongshi River and the Stone Array Slope. At Yongshi River, massive rocks are densely packed in a disorderly fashion, obstructing the flow of water, which in turn flows around the rocks, forming numerous rapids, deep pools, cascades, and layered curtains, with thunderous water sounds and towering white waves. The Yongshi River boasts unique natural landscapes and renowned cultural sites (remnants of the Anti-Japanese Allied Forces). The Stone Array Slope consists of the Stone Peak Ridge and the forested stone sea below. The ridge is home to over a dozen stone peaks that appear stacked or carved, resembling axes or chisels. The forested stone sea spans thousands of acres, creating a scene where giant rocks lie across the forested river valley, with trees veiling the sky.

2. Myriad Vistas Valley Sightseeing Area

Myriad Vistas Valley, originally called Chelugou, is located in the eastern branch of Laobian Gou. It is characterized by high peaks, dense rocks, peculiar stone formations, lush forests, and flowing streams. Particularly in the Laomaizhai sightseeing area, the rock peaks are even higher and denser, with narrow gorges twisting and turning, forming a natural maze. Laomaizhai is the boundary mountain between Benxi and Kuandian counties. Standing atop its peak, one can enjoy views of both regions.
