Guanyin Mountain Jingxiu Chan Temple is a cultural tourism attraction.

Benxi Guanyin Mountain Jingxiu Chan Temple is located on Guanyin Mountain, opposite the long-distance bus station in Benxi Manchu Autonomous County.

Benxi Guanyin Mountain Jingxiu Chan Temple was originally called Guanyin Pavilion. It was first built in 1994 and was later officially approved by the Religious Affairs Bureau of Liaoning Province as a Buddhist activity site, after which it was renamed “Guanyin Mountain Jingxiu Chan Temple.” Covering an area of 25,000 square meters, it was constructed with donations from devotees and support from the government.

The Guanyin Pavilion, also known as the Scripture Depository, enshrines a 9.9-meter-tall statue of Guanyin Bodhisattva, meticulously carved from sandalwood. Around and above the statue, radiating like a peacock’s fanned tail, are countless golden hands—each palm bearing an eye and holding a different object. The hands are posed in various graceful postures: stretched out, bent, upright, or sideways.

In Buddhist belief, the sufferings and afflictions of sentient beings are diverse, and their needs and aspirations vary greatly. Therefore, there must be boundless powers and wisdom to aid them. The majestic Thousand-Handed, Thousand-Eyed Guanyin possesses hands holding objects such as grape branches, nectar, white Buddha symbols, and willow twigs. Whether beings seek wealth, freedom from disaster and illness, or other forms of relief, the Thousand-Handed Guanyin responds with boundless compassion, relieving all suffering and bestowing countless blessings.

The Jingxiu Chan Temple stands majestically atop Guanyin Mountain. The Buddhist structures feature soaring eaves, nestled within greenery and embraced by drifting clouds. Under the brilliant sunlight, golden rays shimmer brilliantly, creating a magnificent sight.
