Caohe Castle. The site is located on Beijie Street in Caohecheng Village, Caohecheng Town. In 1467 (the third year of the Chenghua reign during the Ming Dynasty), to defend against the Jurchen tribes, Han Bin, the deputy commander of Liaoyang, oversaw the construction of Caohe Castle. The castle is rectangular in shape, with the east and west walls measuring 96 meters in length and the north and south walls 140 meters. The wall foundations were built with large stone slabs, and the walls were constructed using the board ramming method. The castle had only a southern gate. The ancient castle has been completely ruined, and now only the foundations remain above ground. The northeastern and northwestern corners of the wall foundations still stand about 20 meters high, and remnants such as large stone slabs, blue bricks, and broken tiles can still be seen on the ground.
